What You'll Do

• You will build a security detection system for our customers using current technologies.
• You will make technology choices and put them into practice. Technologies like React, Node.js, TypeScript on the frontend would be good starting points.
• You will work with your team to deliver innovative security software solutions (not writing shelf-ware) for our customers.
• You will be part of a strong collaborative Agile/Scrum team. Individuality in a team environment reflects the culture you will need to support.
• You will be helping our customers protect what's important from cyber threats.
• You will be challenged in working to solve some tough engineering problems using some of the latest tools, technologies and approaches.

A disciplined, practitioner of sound software engineering practices. Your passion is creating delightful user experiences, specializing on both front end and back end. You enjoy taking designs and breathing life into them. You enjoy working with your colleagues in connecting the frontend to services on the backend. You love writing tests and automation to improve efficiency and quality. You enjoy staying on top of fast-moving trends in web development and user experience. You possess an inner level of confidence that allows you to lead some days and follow others based on what is needed for the desired outcomes. You are an active learner on a journey to solve problems for our customers. You have multiple skills in your toolbox and have the ability to pick the right tool for the right job.

Desired skills/characteristics:

• excellent verbal communication skills (English a must)
• proficient in front-end development and testing
• deep technical and analytical skills and excellent knowledge of JavaScript, TypeScript, React (or Vue.js, Angular, ...), CSS
• familiarity with accessibility, and internationalization/localization, security (e.g. OWASP) concerns is a plus
• an understanding of application performance tuning and resource usage is a plus
• active knowledge of networking theory or strong desire to learn it
• familiarity with a Linux or UNIX runtime environment
• you collaborate with other engineers and people in the organization to improve our solution delivery
• you care about your craft and strive towards producing high-quality code.

When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. hiring location. U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco pays at the standard rate of 1% of incentive target for each 1% revenue attainment against the quota up to 100%. Once performance exceeds 100% quota attainment, incentive rates may increase up to five times the standard rate with no cap on incentive compensation. For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
